Conjunction of Jupiter and Venus

Biblical Astronomer & Christian Mystic

March 1st this year observed a conjunction between Jupiter and Venus.  Anciently, priests were tasked with watching the sky so they could interpret and communicate important messages to the people.

Was it all just superstition, or was there something more meaningful and esoteric going on?

Following my unorthodox interests, investing time and study toward the language God typeset in the stars, I’ve discovered some curious correlations that may have been common knowledge to those ancient priests.  This  fundamental understanding has since been lost in the “advancement” of our modern society.  When oppressors cannot tear pages out of the starry scroll that eternally proclaim God’s words, you only need to make the people illiterate to what’s written there in order to effectually destroy the record.  Meanwhile the stars are untouchable.

And I, God, said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night. And let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and for years.

Genesis 2:6

The first purpose that God has for the lights in the firmament, according to His own word, is for signs.

How should we understand these signs unless there is meaning inherent in each light we observe?

Meaning in the stars?

There are 12 recognized constellations fixed in the sky and arranged like a cosmic clock, in 360 degrees.  There are ten moving lights, including the sun, moon and the wandering stars which are the additional planets of the solar system.  Altogether we count 22.

That they exist and are studied is astronomy.  That we presume to interpret them with meaning is astrology, which has been branded with the scarlet letter of pseudoscience.

One can be confident in a conclusion, despite the unorthodoxy and ignorant criticism, if the message and meaning is measurable.  Can it be validated outside of oneself?  Fortunately, there is a way to measure.

These 22 lights have an uncanny correlation to the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet, which is more obvious when comparing their symbols or arrangement in the sky to the earliest form of Hebrew.  More on this in The Ancient Cosmic Language.

Technically the Hebrew goes back to the Egyptian hieroglyphics.  They are a reformed version of that.  In drawing these connections, we weren’t chasing the pen strokes of  Adam or Abraham.  That may not be a possible task except through revelation.  We wanted to bring forth the original meanings  while staying most faithful to the reformed Egyptian and their symbols.

Jupiter

Jupiter means expansion and prosperity.  It’s symbol is the tent peg.  See the Early Hebrew form of Waw/Vav, which is also used as the number 6.

According to Nasa, the symbol of Jupiter is also the hieroglyph of the eagle, Jove’s bird, which has direct connection to Zeus.   The Greek pantheon is a wonderful example of the unbalanced archetypes, but shouldn’t be taken as actual deities or historical figures.  I can respect the marvel that is Greek mythology, especially as they represent unbalanced archetypes.  They’ve preserved and personified important meaning.

For example, Zeus expanded his posterity, but did it in violation of the commandment against adultery (expansion of family) and often selfishly, to the detriment of others.

The tent peg is used to stretch and expand the tent, thus maximizing its space, giving it expansion.  “Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thy habitation: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes” (Isa 54:2).

Jupiter brings with it a hope of expansion, but we must understand that this must be done within the bounds the Lord has set.

Venus

Venus is the brightest star in the night.  Venus represents both a divine covenant and the empowered, enlightened female.  When the Revelation 12 sign has been observed in the sky, it was Venus that reigned in the crown of 12 stars above the head of the woman Virgo.  The specific combination and placement of constellation, moon, sun, and stars is a sign of the old covenant being stripped away from the unfaithful and trodden under foot.  And a sign that a new covenant is being given.

It happened in 2 BC, when as a child John the Baptist wrested the keys from the Sadducees and Pharisees.  For those who aren’t familiar with the story, Zacharias was killed for not producing his son John during Herod’s slaughter of the innocents and is mentioned in Matt. 23: 35.  As Joseph Smith explained: “When Herod’s edict went forth to destroy the young children, John was about six months older than Jesus, and came under this hellish edict, and Zacharias caused his mother to take him into the mountains, where he was raised on locusts and wild honey. When his father refused to disclose his hiding place, and being the officiating high priest at the Temple that year, was slain by Herod’s order, between the porch and the altar, as Jesus said.” (TPJS, p. 261.)  It was John’s life and mission to wrest the keys of the kingdom from the Jews.  Ultimately he was killed, clearing the way for Jesus to start a new dispensation.

The Revelation 12 happened again in 1827 when the Restoration was underway.  And it happened in 2017 as a sign that a new covenant had been offered

Conjunction in Aries

The conjunction of Jupiter and Venus happened in the constellation of Aires (200).  In the early language, the Early Hebrew hieroglyph “Resh” is represented as a head.  The shape of the Aries constellation looks like the modern Hebrew resh (ר). The head is a symbol of the beginning or start.  Aries is a ram, which often run head forward, or a lamb.

Aries is the first constellation of the Zodiac and it represents the Spring, new life birth, and growth.  Being first, it highlights the self.  The beginning of existence and self-awareness can be expressed simply as, “I AM”.  In fact, the God of Torah, or the Old Testament, identifies himself as such to Moses.   Spring and new life – beginning or start – I AM, self.

Some traditions place Yeshua’s birth in the Spring, because shepherds only stay with the flocks when the spring lambs are new and  vulnerable to predators.  This would be an interesting astronomical connection to His role as Lamb of God.

Another energy of Aries is as god of war.  If we consider that Jehovah maintains the the title Lord of Hosts, which is probably better translated as “Lord of Armies”, He is the best personification of a balanced manifestation of the energy.   Understand that not only does He have the best army at His disposal, but the most advanced tactics for conquering.

When the intention of Aries is unbalanced and focused outward, it is aggressive and warlike.  The unbalanced Aries energy is again personified in the Greek pantheon with the god of war, Ares.  It would engage in arguing with aggressive energy.  Trying to push others toward a new journey violates agency.

If instead the energy of Aries is turned inward (requiring humility, and a childlike nature) it is a initiator of self improvement. Consider the parable of the mote vs. beam.  Yeshua  taught to focus on the beam (read: two-by-four) in our own eye rather than the motes (read: speck) in another’s eye.

How does this energy correspond to what we should understand in this conjunction?  We have a choice:  We can expand in the covenant by humbling ourselves and proceeding with self reflection and improvement.  Or we can war with one another, focusing on the minor faults of others.

Second, invisible conjunction

Not visible in the night sky was a second conjunction between Saturn and Mercury in the constellation Aquarius.  One can see it using our modernly available astronomy apps.

This would have preceded the sunset and been otherwise unviewable to star gazers due to the proximity to the sun and it’s blinding greater light.

Saturn is the counterbalance to Jupiter.  Where Jupiter works, buys, sells, trades and expands, Saturn subdues, rests and retracts.  Combined with Mercury which is the energy of communication, these two together mean to me that communication/speech is taken away in the context of social constructs (Aquarius).

It just so happens that on 01 March 2023 there was a Remnant meeting to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Denver Snuffer’s divine call into the ministry.  Many people (social constructs – Aquarius) expected Denver to speak (Mercury – communication), but he did not (Saturn – taking away).  His disposition is to reject any attention or importance on himself.   And as it turned out, he did not even attend the event.

Conversing with Angels

Faith is powerful when it hasn’t been jaded by unbelief.  That’s why we are admonished to have faith like children.  They haven’t learned enough to know that certain mystic experiences aren’t possible.  They’re not?  But why?  Moroni asks, “…have angels ceased to appear unto the children of men? […] …it is by faith that angels appear and minister unto men. Wherefore, if these things have ceased, woe be unto the children of men, for it is because of unbelief, and all is vain.” (Moroni 7:7)

Shortly after baptism new convert Denver Snuffer, who was still unjaded, had an experience consistent with his understanding and expectation of the restoration:

I had an experience in which I did encounter an angel. He had very little to say, but he certainly would have answered a question if I had put one. The words that he said to me were, “On the first day of the third month in nine years, your ministry will begin, and so you must prepare.” And then he waited.

The ministry that began on March 1st, 1983, turned out to be a calling as gospel doctrine teacher as extended by the bishop of his local ward.  Denver’s audience for teaching expanded to writing dozens of books, which eventually got him excommunicated.

What's next?

It is quite likely that this conjunction sign on this 40-year anniversary is significant.  In what way?   The meanings would suggest that there is a new beginning in store for the Lord’s work now underway.  But we ought, as individuals, to proceed in humility and self improvement rather than pointing fingers and finding fault.  The Lord can work with malleable clay.

Behold, as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are you in my hand, O house of Israel.

Babylon will be destroyed.  Looking backwards at her destruction, like Lot’s wife looked back on Sodom & Gomorrah, might have deleterious consequences.

The world will continue to descend into greater chaos and confusion with new and increasing turmoil in society, institutions, and nature.  “What you see happening in the world are the birth pains of a new kingdom.  These upheavals in the world are the tantrums of a dying influence from a desperate adversary who knows God has begun to establish His rule and bring again His kingdom. He whose right it is to rule, for He created this world, has and is taking steps to exercise His right. All the foolish, vain and corrupt systems that oppose Him are doomed.”

The concluding words from the Answer to the Prayer for Covenant are: “Be comforted, be of good cheer, rejoice, and look up, for I am with you who remember me, and all those who watch for me, always, even unto the end. Amen.” T&C 157:66

We are living through and witnessing the most amazing and prophesied times in history.  We have every reason to be of good cheer, relying with hope on His promises for what comes next.

Upcoming heavenly events to look forward to:

Mercury and Jupiter will be in conjunction in Aries upcoming on March 27th.

October 14, 2023 there will be a solar eclipse that will be visible in the United States.  Six months later in April 2024 another solar eclipse.  Stay tuned.

After these two, the next eclipse that is visible in the US won’t occur until March 2033.

What is Power?

What a strange thing it would be to find a king that chose to set aside the usual tools of force and fear, to instead rule by patient persuasion and love. And yet this is exactly how God “rules” his people.
